Japanese
girls have a great fun day every year on March 3rd, it's called
"Hina Festival". Hina-dolls and peach blossoms are
displayed in many homes throughout Japan, with feasting on
spring-colored foods, sweets, decoration cake, and scattered
sushi. Little girls delight in dressing up for Hina Festival
like Hina-dolls themselves.
Parents or grandparents present a set of Hina-dolls for their
daughter before her first birthday, to pray for well being
of little girls and a happy wedding. The dolls show the style
of wedding ceremony in the 12th century Heian court.
