Families of New Passu

Mar 18, 2010

When we visited New Passu, the younger sister-in-law of Mrs.  Tahira was washing tableware in the waterway.(photo①) After we had exchanged greetings, she brought a carpet for us to sit.(photo②) The family of Mrs.Tahira had an apple orchard and a house in New Passu, and they stay at New Passu for about one week to take care of the apple trees.

One of the purposes to which we had visited New Passu that day was to interview Mrs.Tahira. The interview to Mrs.Tahira is published in  ‘yum, yum Interview’.

The lentils grow up in the fields of New Passu. A woman was working in the field had come from Passu to New Passu to harvest the lentils.(photo⑤) Mr.Yaqub helped her with her work.

In New Passu, there was a house with bloomed sunflowers and cosmoses.(photo⑦) We met a small boy, his mother, and grandmother in the garden. This family has lived in New Passu for one year. The grandmother who lives in Yashfamdan, was going to take her grandchild and return to her house. Yashfamdan is located in the south of Passu, and it takes one hour or more on foot from New Passu.

Walking the distance from Yashfamdan to New Passu and also her family who lives there might give her liveliness and energy for life. Looking from the back at the woman who was walking and carrying her grandchild on her back I felt vitality and much physical strength.
